Server

The Gumbo Bros is looking for part time and full time servers to join our team!

As a server you are responsible for leading our guests through their dining experience.  You are the professional who knows the food, drink, wine, and spirits.  Our guests look to you to help them make choices based on their likes and dislikes.  The server position is far from taking orders and checking back with the guest occasionally. You are responsible for getting to know your guest and making sure the guest understands that you are there to ensure that they have a fantastic experience.  We convey this through our actions.  Work with a sense of urgency and purpose.  When you are at a table the guest should receive your undivided attention.  When discussing the menu with the guest, let your excitement, enthusiasm and personality shine through.  We will always try to accommodate our guests to the best of our ability.  


Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Must have (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid Tennessee alcohol serving permit. 
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position (standing/walking for up to 12 hours, ability to lift up to 50 lbs). 
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, and get along well with guests and coworkers. 
  • Must be able to uphold company standards relating to appearance and dress.

 

Preferred:

  • Previous serving experience is a plus.
  • High school graduate or GED.

Bartender

Job duties & Requirements include:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Must have (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid Tennessee alcohol serving permit. 
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Full bar knowledge, proper measuring, and basic cocktail history
  • Provide and monitor a friendly, responsive service to create exceptional experiences for our guests
  • Maintain clean service areas & uphold strict sanitation requirements
  • Prepare items & batch cocktails before and after shifts
  • Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position (standing/walking for up to 12 hours, ability to lift up to 50 lbs). 
  • Familiar with a least one POS (Toast preferred)
  • Must be able to uphold company standards relating to appearance and dress.

Porter

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Porter to join our weekend team. The Porter will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facility, ensuring a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to perform various tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes, cookware, and utensils using dishwashing machines and manual methods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and maintaining restrooms.
  • Remove trash and recycling from designated areas regularly.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Support other departments with cleaning or organizational tasks as required.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Line Cook

We are looking for rockstar BOH employees who will support the Executive Chef and the entire team by organizing, planning and directing activities in all aspects of the kitchen and back of the house. They will actively embody, inspire and teach skills that will elevate the core values, mission and vision of the company.

Ideal BOH candidates for this position will have great attention to cleanliness and detail and an energetic work ethic.

Skills, Duties and Essential Functions:

  • Fast paced, fast casual experience
  • Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, preparing sauces)
  • Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff to specified standards
  • Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area
  • Cleaning dishes, pots, flatware and other
  • Taking in orders and organizing supplies
  • Cleaning floors, surfaces and other as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environments
  • Ability to move about facility and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
